Test helpers

In a sandbox, the dashboard can create test deposit addresses and simulate deposits and payouts on simulated chains. A simulation runs through the same pipeline as live: Stridge detects the payment, records the deposit, settles it and sends your webhooks. No real money moves.

Test helpers appear only in a sandbox, and only for owners and developers. A viewer sees "Your role can't run simulations".

Create a test deposit address

A deposit address (UDA) is what your customers pay into. In the sandbox you can make one in a few clicks.

Open Addresses

In the sidebar, choose Payin → Addresses, then Create a test UDA.

Choose where it settles

Under Settles to, choose a Network and an Asset. The sandbox fills in the rest: a fresh recipient on the simulated network, a generated owner wallet, and every asset accepted.

Choose Create UDA

The sheet shows UDA created with its recipient. Choose Simulate a deposit to pay into it, or View UDA to open it.

Creating a test UDA doesn't count against your simulation limit. For full control over the owner, destination and accepted assets, create the address through the API with a sandbox key.

Simulate a deposit

You can start a deposit from Developer → Simulations, from an address's page, or from a vault's page. Each has a Simulate a deposit button.

Pick a scenario

Under What should happen?, pick a scenario. It fills in the payment and the outcome:

  • Happy path: the right amount, settled to the destination.
  • Settlement fails: the deposit lands and its settlement fails for good.
  • Settles on retry: the first settlement attempt fails and the retry succeeds.
  • Underpaid or Overpaid: sends less or more than the address normally receives.
  • Wrong network or Wrong asset: Stridge sees the payment but doesn't settle it.
  • Tiny amount: too small to count as a deposit, so nothing is recorded.
  • Custom payment: start empty and set every field yourself.

Choose Continue.

Check the details

Adjust the Destination, Network, Asset, Amount and the outcome. The API request section shows the request this sends; choose Copy request to copy it as HTTP or cURL.

Choose Simulate

The sheet follows the simulation live: Simulation started, On chain, Detected by Stridge, then Done. When it finishes, choose View deposit to open what it created, or Simulate another.

Simulate a payout

To simulate a payout, the vault needs a balance. Simulate a deposit into the vault first.

  1. In the sidebar, choose Payout → Vaults and open a vault.
  2. Choose Simulate a payout.
  3. Fill in the payout, then choose an Outcome:
    • Confirms: the payout is confirmed on chain.
    • Fails: the payout fails, is reverted, and its funds are unlocked.
    • Is held: the payout waits unconfirmed until you decide.
  4. Choose Simulate.

A held payout shows a Held by a simulation panel on the payout. Choose Release to confirm it on chain, or Fail to revert it.

Follow your simulations

Developer → Simulations lists every simulation in this sandbox: its type, what you asked for, the result and when it ran. Select one to see its progress, the request it was started with, and the deposit, settlement or payout it created.

A reset deletes every simulation in the sandbox.

Limits

  • Each sandbox can run 600 simulations per hour. The simulation sheets show how many you have left. When you reach the limit, wait for the window to roll over.
  • The sandbox simulates Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Smart Chain, Optimism, Polygon, Bitcoin, Solana and Tron. Tempo isn't available in the sandbox.
  • While a sandbox is still being set up or is being reset, you can't start a simulation. Try again once it's ready.

Run simulations from your tests

The dashboard and the API share the same simulations. To run them from code, call the test helpers API with a sandbox key. See Test helpers on the Developers surface.
